A Slice of Gastronomy at Piz'za-za Wine Bar
JOSH HANSEN
GATINEAU, QUÉBEC
Want
mushrooms instead of pepperoni? No problem. How about a chicken club
sandwich except on pizza dough? Absolutely! With so many possibilities, it’s
almost impossible to make a bad pizza. But the folks at Piz'za-za in
Gatineau, Québec have taken it to whole new level. By kneading a traditional
Italian cuisine with fine Italian wines, Piz'za-za has created a unique
hybrid of a pizza and wine bar that is conventional and classy.
The large red, brick building has two levels. The second floor is used
for private parties and wine tasting. The main floor is where you’ll find a
large private outdoor patio and an intimate, soft interior dining room
perfect for enjoying any of the 24 different pizza varieties on the menu.
The care and quality Pizza-za puts into their feature dish isn’t lost in
any of their other Italian cuisines either. The tomates au brie
appetizer, a baked dish of Italian tomatoes, black olives and sautéed
mushrooms covered in brie, is a great way to start the experience. Salads
are also plentiful. For main dishes, the Linguines aux Merguez is a
light pasta dish served with roasted tomatoes, black olives, a hint of
garlic and Grenoble nuts. Top it off with a cappuccino or a piece of
cheesecake from the dessert menu for an experience that’s completamente
Italiano. |
